Figure Skating

Brooke began figure skating at the age of three; she has achieved Gold Medal Status in the United States Figure Skating Association: Moves in the Field and Freestyle, as well as Gold Medal Status in Skate Canada Freestyle.

 

As a member of the Professional Skater’s Association and the United States Figure Skating Association, Brooke began her coaching ventures in 2008 at the Niagara University Skating Club. There, she instructed children in both semi-private and private lessons, with student skill levels ranging from Basic to Juvenile in Freestyle, and Pre-Preliminary to Intermediate in Moves in the Field. Since then, she has become a learn to skate instructor at the newly built Cornerstone CFCU Arena, with the hope of aiding in the establishment of a new skating club.

Power Skating

Brooke’s figure skating experience has given her strong edgework and has enabled her to utilize her strides for quick forceful acceleration. She has found fulfillment in being able to instruct hockey players, helping them to utilize their edges, heighten their stability and balance, all the while increasing their power. Brooke has stated that she enjoys power skating because it teaches sheer strength and power, getting the most out of each push, without the distraction of making it look effortless.

 

Group Lessons Available: Class sizes vary from 8-15 students.

Off-Ice Training

In order to gain a competitive edge, Brooke began utilizing off-ice training at a young age, and quickly discovered its numerous and substantial benefits. Brooke tailors her training programs to each individual client, by first assessing her clients’ weaknesses, before preparing a plan to address and correct instability. By strengthening stabilizing muscles and increasing both coordination and flexibility, off-ice training programs can not only improve on ice technique and ability, but also prevent injury.

Brooke’s formal training experience and diverse education allows her to accurately evaluate each client’s individual needs. Weakness and instability can impact many aspects your life, even if you are not an athlete. In 2013, Brooke took a specialization course in Functional Fitness. This course detailed the ways in which non-sport specific personal training could improve the quality of one’s life. She has the ability to tailor a program to the needs of each individual client. Whether you are concerned with weight loss, generally improving your physical condition, or preventing the effects of aging, Brooke can help you achieve your goals.
